State Park and a Roadside Attraction Giant

Like many, we have been feeling a bit stir crazy these days. Circumstances have changed a bit for us, but we are still playing it safe by limiting our physical interactions with others.

When the state parks in Illinois opened up, we decided to get out of the city and explore one of the state parks that we haven't visited before. We were able to distance ourselves from others for many hours, until the afternoon, so that's when we decided to leave.

On our way home, we stopped along Route 66 to see a roadside attraction called the Gemini Giant. Dottie had seen it in a magazine some weeks before and was very interested in his helmet, she had never seen one like that before. We stopped to see the giant up close, but she didn't want me to put her down. The entire ride home, she babbled about the giant, asking to see the photos we took of us with the giant, all until she fell asleep.
