This weekend we are visiting home, and have a packed weekend. We have quite a few family in friends visiting our home town, as well as visiting our own city. Needless to say, it will be one busy weekend followed by another. Here's just a few things that I've been loving that I'd thought to share while I'm running around town this weekend.
1 // Kristyn from Milk + Crown has started a project to raise funds for cleaner water in Sudan, Kenya, and Malawi. You can see her 30 necklaces in 30 days project here and the way that we can contribute is by buying one of her lovely necklaces this month. Kristyn's jewelry is feminine and simple, with a variety of styles perfect for everyone. My personal favorites are the Harper, Byrony, and Paz. If you know someone's whose birthday or other special occasion is coming up, these make great gifts and it's a purchase for a great cause this month.
2 // My best friend from high school has an Etsy shop where she sells some of her clay and crochet items. A lot of her work is custom and commission based, but she has this great little headphone charm in honor of the latest video game that we've been playing, Animal Crossing: New Leaf! You can check out my friend's latest custom art work on her website, Jennipho.
3 // We leave for Austin, Texas next week! We are taking a little weekend trip to visit a dear friend. We've already discussed the bats, BBQ, and even a lavender farm! However, one thing I always check before I travel for recommendations is Atlas Obscura. It always has a list of places in cities that I actually want to visit. We found some great and lesser-known museums in Paris from this website. I very much enjoy visiting obscure places, and this website is a great resource for that.
Family weekends are the best! :) Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy Austin. That's where we are currently living and it's one of my favorite places to be. We still haven't seen the bats but it's on our list to do before we move on to our next location. I haven't heard of Atlas Obscura. My husband and I are soon buying an RV and hitting the road full-time so something like that would be super helpful. So thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know your Austin recommendations when you go! J is going for a work trip in the beginning of September and I might be joining him, we'll see. Either way he'll need an insider's guide of where to eat! Have a wonderful weekend, doll. xo
