I could easily live off of cheese, cracker, fruit, and nut platters as a meal everyday. There is something so fun about tasting cheeses, pairing them with a new wine or a jam that's been in your fridge just waiting for that perfect match. At least once a week we try to buy some cheese to indulge in, whether it be a new type to try, or an old favorite to rely on. The man at the cheese counter always likes when we come in because S and I are creating a cheese-habit that is almost as serious as an addiction. The cheesemonger told us that he and his wife devote at least $40 of each paycheck to their own cheese-habit. He is totally willing to open every pesto, nut, olive, or tapenade that he has at his counter for us to try with a cheese pairing because he knows we will always be pleased.
My favorite cheeses at the moment:
- Soft goat cheese speckled with lavender + herbs de provence
- Semi-soft smokey + nutty gouda
- Classically hard + crumbly peccorino romano, a sharp sheep's milk cheese
- Semi-soft sheeps + goat milk cheese, speckled with truffle inside, dusted with truffle outside
My boyfriend loves cheese so much! He must love this. Thanks for sharing :)
