Dreary and grey, that's how they always describe days like these. It's more like someone sucking the warmth straight from your skin, with every foggy exhale. There were a few fast days of bright, red maple leaves, lining the sidewalks like a fire, but so quickly with the cold nights, the leaves fall. Fall, like spring, is always too short, and we're quickly already in what feels like winter. In years past, our first snowfall happens the week before Thanksgiving, and here we are, two weeks before, with snow on the ground. The first snow is my favorite, because it is usually light enough to barely stick to the sidewalks, and there are warm enough temperatures to melt it away. Just a tease to the winter ahead.
