What Yelle Wore: Fall

What I Wore
Sweater c/o: SammyDress // Blouse: H&M // Jeans: Sunshine boutique in Paris // Shoes: H&M (similar 1 & 2) // Necklace: Village Antique Mall in Mount Dora (vendor now showcases at Renninger's Antique Market in Mount Dora)

Fall is here, and winter is coming. I've been using up my Starbucks gift cards on graham lattes at the suggestion of Danielle. I've purchased a warm hat and a pair of fleece leggings. We have a new friend making a winter coat for Mordechai and I've got my eye on a set of snow boots for him so that the salt doesn't hurt his paws. Also in anticipation of the winter ahead, this weekend S and I plan to hang the last of the pictures in the bathroom, bedroom, and second bedroom. Making the apartment homier with those final touches will really make it feel it's coziest before winter. And maybe, just maybe, we can get in one more trip to the dog beach while it's only chilly and not cold.

This time of year, when work is busy and it's cold at night, all I want to do is cuddle up on the couch and watch movies after walking Mordechai. I can tell that Mort likes this cooler weather, and he loves the fallen leaves. I'm thinking he's never seen piles of leaves on the ground before, because anytime we pass some, he investigates.

Black jeans really are my uniform, year-round. I find that they are the new classic - I can pair anything with them, and I always feel put together. My other favorite classic? Stripes. I love a great black and white striped top paired with black jeans. And now, I even have a black and white striped sweater for chilly afternoons. We are really trying to take advantage of every passing moment outside because we aren't sure what to expect for our first Chicago winter. On particularly beautiful days, my new coworkers and I will take a walk around Lake Michigan, savoring the view of blue waves instead of the frozen tundra about to come.

  1. I agree! I am currently wearing black jeans and a striped t-shirt, with a red flannel to top off the "fall" feeling. Love the elbow pads!

  2. Oh I love an elbow patch!
I am with Mordechai on the leaves. I don't think I've ever enjoyed watching falling leaves as much as this year.
But you know, I bet because it is new, you will also enjoy the Winter ;-)

  4. Thank you for you link, sweet girl. Those graham lattes are so yummy. You should try the hazelnut praline one next. ;)

I love your outfit and I hope you're able to make it to the dog beach. That sounds like so much fun, but then I'm the type of person that goes to a party and hangs out with the dog. Haha.

P.S. I took lead from you and made a faves page listing all the blogs I read... Naturally, I put yours on there.

it seems like it is already too cold for the dog beach :( however! the greyhound alliance has a meetup this month so i think mort will be happy with that alternative! running around with fellow hounds sounds like a fun time.
