- house-infused pumpkin spice bourbon (aged for one year!)
- house-maded vermouth
- cointreau (sucker for this ever since my friend and I purchased it for a French themed dinner party)
- vanilla simple syrup
- garnished with an orange peel
Sounds killer, right? It was. The spiciness was so savory, and deep. This cocktail's flavor lingered on your palate, unlike other cocktails in which the well-whiskey lingers unwanted. This was a hit. They said that they were almost out of this one barrel treat, so I ordered two.
Salut, Yelle

That does sound yummy! I don't usually stray from my amaretto sour though. :)
ReplyDeleteAmaretto sours are good! If you ever stray - definitely stray for something worth it like this!
DeleteThat sounds like a delicious fall cocktail! Of all the years I lived in Orlando, how did I not hear about this restaurant! I will have to try it out next time I go :)
ReplyDeleteIt's new! It's Luma's "sister" restaurant! Definitely go! And don't forget to make a reservation ;)
DeleteOh, yes please. If you like whiskey and ginger ale, try gin and ginger ale! I'm a gin girl through and through. My cocktail of choice recently has been Bluecoat gin, St. Germain (you HAVE to try this, it's French elderflower liquor) and club soda. To. Die. For. Thanks for the recipe! I love anything with vanilla simple syrup :)
ReplyDeleteI do like gin and ginger ale too! I would say that is my backup if whiskey isn't available :)
DeleteAnd French elderflower liquor? Sign me up, that sounds like heaven!
I'm not much of a cocktail person either, but this sounds pretty amazing. I do like an enjoying autumn-y drink and this fits the bill!
ReplyDeleteThat was supposed to say "an occasional autumn-y" drink. Apparently I have "enjoying" on the mind, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. ;)
DeleteNot at all a bad thing :) I wish autumn flavors were used in drinks more this time of year!
Deleteyum, this looks like a super tasty drink. i seriously need to drink more and i can say that because i drink maybe 3 times a year these days. ; )
ReplyDelete3 times a year!? Are you that busy with the boys? Being in Portland, you should have many delicious cocktail restaurants to chose from!
Deleteoh yum!

It really is so yum!
DeleteI don't even pretend to understand the finesse of all you describe, but I could use your skills at any party! PS: It looks better than a Cosmo :))
ReplyDeleteAt my college we can actually take classes in beer, wine, and spirits for an elective! Having knowledge of it definitely helps at any event!
DeleteThis looks delish! Yum!

It's really is!
Deletehi Yelle, nice to "meet" you :) I love pumpkin and cinnamon so I guess I'd love this drink :) And also the pasta dish you prepared the other day. I'll be around!
ReplyDeleteThanks! This drink is the perfect combo of both!
DeletePumpkin spice bourbon? What will they think of next?! Every year, I see more and more pumpkiny things. This looks like it would be so delicious though.
